Advice for New Players from a Seasoned Agent

For those without unlimited power, here is how I would play:

There are SO many portals now, and many of them are unclaimed. Try to make it a point to take over 1 portal per day, either by force, or finding an unclaimed one.

Destroy portals -randomly- it feels great and they don't see it coming. Even if you only put L1 resonators in it's place, you gained at least 2350 AP from the venture. Level 4 agents can destroy a level 6 or even 7 with a little determination. More links = More AP = Leveling up faster

Small weapons can make a big boom if used properly! L1-5 XMPs are best used directly on top of the resonators. If the portal isn't at full power, SMASH IT! Remember, portals drop their links if there is only 2 resonators left. If you can't destroy it, cripple it. This is where you will gain a ton of AP.

New content to help with local law enforcement

Greetings Agents,

This morning I released new content that should help you in the event that you are engaged by local law enforcement while on mission. Just pull up the Ingress Information for Law Enforcement page on your device and hand it to them so they can be briefed of your mission.

In many situations, the officer may be intrigued, it is often a good idea to keep a spare activation key available to offer that officer if they so choose to take up the cause.

Also, as we are agents with a cause, we must keep in mind the importance of keeping our communities safe. As you are on mission, always be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to the proper local law enforcement agency immediately.

New Content, Added New Item to Recommended Gear, New Server, and Updated Content

Greetings Agents,

I know it has been some time, but I have good news. I have released new content and a new content section as can be seen in the navbar above, Ingress Strategy Guides. The first strategy guide released, is a Ingress Strategy Guide for Rural Players. This strategy guide is geared at providing tips for players in smaller towns where the portals are few and far between. Also, I have updated a few of the pages around the site with the most recent information of game play. As usual, if you find any inaccurate or missing information, please let me know so i can get it updated.

New Item Added to Recommended Gear

Greetings Agents,

Safety is Numero Uno

Greetings Agents,

This morning I read an article about an off duty US navy sailor who recently defended herself from an attacker which made me think a bit about safety. Your missions are important as your faction depends on you, but even more important is that you make it home safely every day. That is why I drafted up a new component for the Ingress Bootcamp: Getting started guide, Ingress Safety Guide.

Niantic Project to Shutdown?

Greetings agents,

It was reported within the latest Ingress Report, how will this effect the future of Ingress and our understanding of XM.

Also in the report is information about changes to the usage of XMP Blasters, stating that they will begin to consume XM during detonation. How much will be varied by the level of the XMP Blaster. We will be sure to update the guide as we know more.

Be sure to review the full report below.

Breaking News! Update to Ingress Scanner! Changes to Game!

Greetings Agents,

New information has been leaked from the Niantic Project that leads us to believe that an update to the Ingress Scanner will be released. A document titled Recharging and Upgrading has been leaked that provides details that agents will now receive AP for recharging and upgrading resonators. This is excellent news and will completely evolve our activity as agents. Here is an excerpt:

Lynton-Wolfe: Yes.
I'm quite pleased about it. I will be rolling it out in a few hours.
The fact that the operatives, the so called players, will receive AP for utilizing the remote resonator recharge and resonator upgrade technologies should (in theory) encourage maintenance of portals, which is wonderful for our XM harvesting need.
I'll be making this a required update for all active scanners later this week.

Ben Jackland & New Sources for the Niantic Project Investigation Log

Greetings Agents,

Interesting developments with the Niantic Project Investigation. Ben Jackland is alive! He posted a comment on a post from PAC. It seems the NIA cannot control people as well as they think. In light of this news, I have updated Ben Jackland record within the POI Database as being active.
